About the Group:
Indie Ignites is a group of small press and self published authors, working together to promote each other and other indie authors. We're excited to educate others starting down this path and to promote exceptional indie titles to our readers. Scattered around the country, we're brought together by a love of good books and a desire to get them in readers hands - no matter how non-traditional the path.


JC Emery


Genre: NA urban fantasy, YA contemporary, contemporary romance
Bio: As a child, JC was fascinated by things that went bump in the night. As they say, some things never change. Now, as an adult, she divides her time between the sexy law men, mythical creatures, and kick-ass heroines that live inside her head and pursuing her bachelor’s degree in English. As it is for most writers, finding balance is a challenge.
JC writes adult, new adult, and young adult fiction. She dabbles in many different genres including science fiction, horror, chick lit, and murder mysteries; but she is most enthralled by supernatural stories– and everything has at least a splash of romance. JC’s first completed novel, MARITAL BITCH is now available.
Release dates: The Birthright Series: Anomaly (#1) is due out 3/31/13. The 30 Days Series: January (#1) is due out this summer. The Switch (Men with Badges #2) is due out this fall.

Adrianne James



Genre: YA/NA

Bio:  Growing up, Adrianne couldn’t get her hands on enough books to satisfy her need for the make believe. If she finished a novel and didn’t have a new one ready and waiting for her, she began to create her own tales of magic and wonder. Now, as an adult, books still make up majority of her free time, and now her tales get written down to be shared with the world.
During the day, Adrianne uses her camera to capture life’s stories for clients of all ages and at night, after her two children are tucked in bed; she devotes herself to her written work. Adrianne is living the life she always wanted, surrounded by art and beauty, the written word and a loving family.
As a young adult author, Adrianne James has plans to bring stories of growing characters, a little romance, and perhaps a little magic and mythology down the line for her readers to enjoy.

Book you can read over and over: Only one??? Okay, fine. I can't even count the number of times I have read the Harry Potter books and now that my children are about the right age, I get to read them all over again and live the wonder and excitement through them.

Bio: Nazarea Andrews is an avid reader and tends to write the stories she wants to read. She loves chocolate and coffee almost as much as she loves books, but not quite as much as she loves her kids. She lives in south Georgia with her husband, daughters, and overgrown dog.

Bio:  I teach writing and lit at Western New England University.  I live in western Massachusetts with my husband, two kids, and 5 cats.
Release Date: All four e-novellas in the Snark and Circumstance series are available from Swoon and a sequel is coming out in Fall of 2014.
Favorite dessert: anything chocolate and even better if the chocolate is warm and melty
Book you can read over and over:  I have read Jean Stein's biography of Edie Sedgwick at least fifteen times. It is not something I am necessarily proud of, though.

Bio: At twelve, Megan decided to write a novel. A month later, she quit. Megan also plays the piano and sings. She teaches little kids and takes pictures of pretty butterflies. Genre: I write New Adult and Adult books in romance, historical, and thrillers.

ST Bende



 Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance (Norse Mythology)

Bio:  Before finding domestic bliss in suburbia, ST Bende lived in Manhattan Beach (became overly fond of Peet’s Coffee) and Europe… where she became overly fond of the musical Cats.  Her love of Scandinavian culture and a very patient Norwegian teacher inspired The Elsker Saga.  She hopes her characters make you smile and that one day pastries will be considered a health food.



Release Date: THE ELSKER SAGA arrives in 2013 from Entranced Publishing.  The free prequel, TUR, releases in early April.  Book 1, ELSKER releases April 29, 2013, and Book 2, ENDRE releases September 16, 2013.

Rachel Bateman

Genre: YA/NA, both contemporary and spec fiction.

Bio: Rachel Bateman is a writer and editor who spends too much time thinking she can out bake the Cake Boss. (Spoiler: She can’t.) She grew up in the middle of Montana, despite living in the south (usually on a beach) in her head; now she lives in The Middle of Nowhere, Wyoming. Yes, that is capitalized, as it is (or at least should be) the official name of where she lives. Rachel is the owner of Metamorphosis Books, an author services company offering edits and formatting/interior layout for independent authors. When not writing, editing, or reading books, she can be found playing with her husband, young son, and herd of alpacas.

Favorite Dessert: In the winter, anything with ice cream (preferably non-chocolate, but I'll eat that, too); in the summer, anything with fresh fruit. I love fruit pizza.

Book I Can Read Over and Over: CRIME & PUNISHMENT, so much so that I have a side project, THE RASKOLNIKOV PROJECT, that is a modern YA retelling.

  1. Very interesting, but if I may offer a word of advice? I think it would be far better to put a general introduction at the top of the page, maybe stating how you all got together and why, where you are from etc?
